Usually, whenever anyone take a trip to Guwahati, Assam, their bucket list is often limited to Kamakhya Temple, Accoland or some malls over here.

But, for us, being adventure lovers, we want something more related to nature rather than having a good lunch/ dinner at some fancy restaurant.

One such place everyone must visit at least once in their travel to Guwahati is the Paradise Lake. Situated 142 km away from the city of Guwahati, Paradise lake offers you a blue-green clean water lake surrounded by big rocks on all sides.

Morning of 9th September, five adventure lovers full of enthusiasm were on their way to seek some thrill. Packed with breakfast, water and our camera setup, we set out for our destination early in the morning. Having fuelled our car, we were very excited to reach our beautiful destination as soon as we could. So we kept on going until we reached Morigaon, (which was only half-way to our destination) and had a quick stop for breakfast.

After having our tummies filled, we set back on the road and reached Nagaon bypass very soon. It was the end of the highway journey and now we had to go through a small village in order to reach a small mountain. Parking our car at the foothill, and packing all the necessary items into our backpacks, our team of five started the 600m trek to the top.

On reaching the top, our eyes were just sparkling seeing the beauty; the nature had to offer. Having completed our photoshoot and taking panoramas of the lake, we changed into shorts and dived into the water. The water temperature was so pleasant and perfect to remove all our fatique and replenish our energy back. After an hour of swimming we were back to the shore and it was finally the time to say goodbye to this beauty.

Tips for the journey:

  1. Prefer going by bikes to avoid trekking. (But , the beauty is worth trekking)

  2. Take along with you some amout of water bottles as there's no shop nearby. (Do not throw the water bottles into the nature.)

  3. Try to stay near the shore if you don't know to swim. The water is very deep at the middle. (One of my friend almost drowned.)
